Memo 004: Thank Yous and Loose Ends (Backtrack to day after zombie outbreak ends)

Thank you to everyone who came by the hospital and defended it. It wasn't easy, but we did it, and I'm really grateful for everyone's cooperation.

B. Phone (filtered to both the RED Spy and the BLU Spy)

Would it be possible for me to see the two of you today? Sometime before lunch?

C. Phone (filtered to the BLU Sniper, hackable)

Mr Mundy, I was wondering whether you'd like me to take you around town today? If it's not too much trouble, I can meet up with you after lunch.

D. Action (around 1337 Benny Road)

(Miss Pauling seems to be busy with something, being up early in the morning. It looks like she's baking...something. However, based on the annoyed look on her face, it doesn't seem to be working...there's a strong smell of cookies in the kitchen, with just a tinge of a burning smell. Anyone who happens to be awake at 8am in the morning and around 1337 Benny Road may just get a free sample cookie with some crumbly black bits.)

E. Action
(If anyone's around the neighborhoods, they'll see Miss Pauling holding a slip of paper as she navigates through all the houses in the hope of finding one. She's got a bag of something that's emitting a nice smell, if a bit burnt. Approach her?)

F. Action (726 Anderson Lane)

(With some help from the Spies, she found out where Miss Susan stays at. With a bag of cookies (only slightly burnt on the edges) she finds herself at the doorstep. She looks a bit anxious, but eventually she gets enough courage to knock on the door.)

Well, having a house of drones might be better than having to share a house with someone you don't like.

You can buy food at the grocery. When you get assigned a job in Mayfield, you get paid too as well. I'm not too sure about cigarettes though; I could ask the RED Sniper for you.

I'd appreciate that. Suppose it'll all be American brands here, but better than nothin'.

It is unnerving to be referred to as "Mrs Mundy". And the drone children in the house...they're just not real at all. I'm not ready to be a mother yet myself.

I suppose so, but better to have some than none at all.

You sure? I'll send you mine an' you can increase th' family. Same last name an' all, no one will know th' difference.

*Please take these small children away from him. He is not fit father material. Or so he thinks.*

(She gives a small laugh.)

I'm pretty sure. I don't think the RED Sniper would approve either, he tends to stay away from them.

I don't blame 'im. Hm, maybe I can find a way t' pawn 'em off on someone else...

To be honest, I've never heard of someone who's tried to do that. I have no idea whether it'd work, but I don't think the town authorities would let you get away with it. You may just get punished for it and get droned.

It's not loike I'm gonna shoot them or anything. Just go give 'em t' th' RED Scout or somethin'.

But the whole point of placing us in these families is for us to play out the roles assigned to us. If we don't, then the town may see need to remind us of our situation. For example, I've heard that if you don't return to your assigned house within three days, you get droned.

(The BLU Sniper earns something like a tiny smirk from Miss Pauling.)

I wouldn't be so cruel to the drone kids. But then again, a bit of responsibility would go a long way.

It'd be good for th' little spazz. He doesn't know th' meaning 'f th' word responsibility.

Gettin' droned doesn't sound pleasant. But if it gets rid 'f everyone living at my house, it'd be worth it.

Well, the BLU Scout definitely grew up, so there's hope for the RED one then.

I guess everyone has their preferences, though I have to admit, I'd like to know why you say that.

And you'd considered losing sense of whoever you are an equal payment for that?

(She's not sounding accusatory or anything. She's just curious, that's all.)

It just might. There have been people who've been droned for a few months, some are even permanently droned.

It just does. I guess that whoever's in charge keeps tabs on everyone.

*He rubs the bridge of his nose. This is starting to look worse and worse the more he learns about it.*

(She sympathizes with him, but she knows that anything akin to pity would not go down well with him. So, she tries to go for optimistic cheering up.)

It's not that bad yet. I mean, who's to say that we're not going to be the ones who break out of here? And at least you're not in the same house or area with either of the Spies.

Well, I'm guessing that you've already met the RED Spy at the hospital, though I'm surprised that your team mates didn't tell you about that the BLU Spy was around.

Met th' RED one. Didn't realize there was a BLU one around too.

*He clenches his jaw as he stares at the park around them. A Spy on the same team is almost worse since you can't just shoot them when they start getting annoying.*

Well, he doesn't show up that often as compared to the RED Spy. He doesn't really bother anyone on his team. (That much.)
